Whether you need a basic web site or a more elaborate site, I can design a site to meets your needs. Services include developing and designing your site, from beginning to the end which is finally being published. Your web site's "look and feel" is something I will work on from your input or based on other sites that you like the look and feel of.

Content Writing for Web Sites

One of the most difficult aspects of putting a small business web site together can be writing the content. For many people, writing about themselves or their business is difficult. Web site content should be presented not only in a way that is easy to read, but search engine friendly.

 
Domain name registration

The web site's domain name is what most people refer to as a

"web site address", such as "www.yourcompanyname.com".

Web site domain names are registered through separate companies known as domain registrars. I can assist you in registering a domain name with the proper organization, and also help you choose a name that will help customers find your web site.

I strongly suggest using a reputable registrar such as  GoDaddy.com . I do not recommend a site I do not use myself.

You will pay a few dollars more per year (about $35), but it is worth it in the long run by saving you downtime.

Search engine placement and web site promotion

Registering your web site with the search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.) is an optional extra step, although highly recommended step. Fee for this service is $100 and covers resubmitting for 90 days.

Web site hosting

Web site files reside on special computers known as "servers" that are hooked into the internet 24/7. These servers are maintained by hosting companies and you will need a hosting site so your site will be visible.

I can arrange this for you by using the company that I personally use for over 9 years.

Avoiding using the "free" or reduced fee services, since these are often unreliable and they do include pop-up ads that distract from your own site.

E-mail set-up

Confused about how to set up and retrieve your e-mail? Need more than one e-mail address for your company? I can arrange this service for you, as well as teach you how to access and reply to your e-mails from the office or while on the road.

Guest Book Log

A Guest Book module adds a very convenient way for visitors to leave you feedback about your site and it's a fantastic way to compile a valuable email mailing list. The Guest Book System will notify you of who sent the email and what were their comments.

You do need to collecting information about your visitors  as this is a critical part of developing your web site. You can choose where to receive these emails and they even can be put directly into a special folder just for them. You are able to cut and paste positive comments of your choice to a special Comments page or a Testimonial page.

Installation fee of $85 applies, to cover the cost of installing and configuring the script, and customizing the look of the guest book pages to match your site.

Web site visitor statistics

To find out how well your site is working for you, I can arrange a web site tracking service that records your visitors, what pages they read and for how long, and many other useful stats. I highly recommend this service to find out just how well your site is doing and why.

Web site maintenance

It's possible that you to make updates to your site after it's finished. For those who would prefer not to I am able to make simple changes.

Modification of a few lines of text are usually done at no charge.

For more involved changes, such as adding new pages, complete revisions of pages, the fee is $100 per hour and depending on the amount of work involved, I can arrange billing on a monthly or quarterly basis.

If you think that your web site will need updates on a frequent basis, you may enter into a maintenance contract which is $300 per quarter.

This gives you unlimited changes to already established and published pages.
